Alabama Southern Community College

Alabama Southern Community College is ranked as one of the premier community colleges in the nation and has campuses conveniently located in Choctaw, Clarke, and Monroe counties in the Coastal Gateway Regional EDA area. Its advanced manufacturing industry alliance has been nationally recognized; and the National Science Foundation has designated Alabama Southern as one of only 14 national centers for technology training. Students attending ASCC are typically workforce ready in two years instead of four, and have the skills many industries and employers are looking for in employees. Alabama Industrial Development Training:

Helps new or expanding companies find and train workers at no cost to the company. AIDT specializes in program development, recruiting, assessing and training potential employees, providing on-the-job training, developing and producing training materials and videos, and locating facilities and delivering customized service.

Alabama Career Center On-The-Job Training:

Provides businesses a reimbursement of up to 50 percent on wages for trainees for up to six months of training. Businesses are expected to provide bona fide training, keep an accurate account of each trainee(s) time and attendance and provide workers compensation insurance (or comparable liability insurance). The CareerLink’s Job Developer prepares all necessary paperwork.

Alabama Technology Network (ATN):

The Alabama Technology Network (ATN) is part of the Alabama Community College System, and is comprised of a team of experts that help solve the unique needs of local industries and businesses. It does this through innovation, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions, conducting detailed-oriented needs assessments, followed by outlining potential solutions, and finally, providing technical assistance to help solve problems when necessary.

ATN links industries and businesses with the resources they need from its network of universities, colleges, businesses, and even the government. ATN provides the training needed for companies to be more effective, more productive, and more competitive.
